Art that captures personality, Memory and Joy

Animals have always been central to my work. A pet portrait is rarely just about likeness; it is about the expression, posture and small details that make an animal recognisably theirs. Each pawtrait is hand-painted from reference photographs, with attention given to character, colouring and the quiet presence that pets hold in our lives and homes.

 

Alongside celebratory portraits, I also create memorial artworks for both pets and people. These pieces are approached with particular sensitivity. For some clients this may include incorporating a very small amount of ashes, pets only, into the paint, or using a fragment of meaningful fabric – perhaps from a favourite shirt or scarf – as part of the artwork. These elements are always optional and handled respectfully, allowing the finished painting to carry a tangible connection to the person or animal being remembered.

 

My practice also includes a series of miniature paintings created on traditional paint colour charts. These playful pieces explore colour relationships and everyday nostalgia, often pairing carefully observed subjects with familiar references from childhood and popular culture.

 

Whether commissioning a portrait or choosing a piece from an existing collection, the intention remains the same: to create artwork that feels thoughtful, distinctive and quietly meaningful. Each piece is created by hand using professional artist materials and is designed to be lived with, remembered and enjoyed for years to come.
